HOME GARDEN DESIGN
Design Intent
This modern residence landscape was created to support entertaining and social use while remaining visually clean and easy to maintain. The design balances strong architectural planting with durable contemporary materials to reinforce the home’s modern character.
Planting Strategy
Planting is concentrated close to the house to visually anchor the architecture. Structural species such as Magnolia ‘Goliath’, architectural yews, and ornamental grasses provide bold form, height variation, and year-round structure. These are complemented by a layered selection of perennials that introduce seasonal change, texture, and color without increasing maintenance complexity.
Material Palette
Hard landscaping features low walls, refined plaster finishes, and contrasting paving, all selected for durability and alignment with the home’s contemporary aesthetic. Subtle detailing, such as limestone edging used as a kerb feature, adds texture without visual clutter.
Lighting Integration
High-performance exterior lighting from National Lighting enhances usability and atmosphere after dark. Minimalist bollards emphasize circulation routes while reinforcing the clean linear geometry of the design.
Front Garden & Approach
The driveway layout keeps vehicles to one side, allowing planting to extend toward the entrance and soften the frontage. A sculptural olive tree provides a focal point at the front door, while multi-stem birch trees add vertical lightness and seasonal movement.
OUTCOMES
The completed landscape delivers a modern, entertainment-focused outdoor environment where visual strength, functionality, and low maintenance coexist.
